“As no one else can know how we perceive, we are the best experts on ourselves.” Though attaining complete self-awareness may take a lifetime to acquire, ultimately the greater our self-awareness the more success we will have in changing ourselves and changing the way we interact with others. Caitlin, an experienced counselor, has counseled patients for a decade and a half, providing counseling services for adults, children and adolescents. She is especially knowledgeable about the unique challenges facing performing artists of all ages.
Caitlin’s humor and eclectic approach to solving problems helps clients to gain a better understanding of their feelings, thought processes and behaviors. Each session is tailored toward the individual. Caitlin is experienced in person-centered therapy, REBT/CBT and solution focused therapy. When working with Caitlin, patients experience a safe, comfortable and nonjudgmental space to express their greatest anxieties and work through them until they are no longer prominent.
As a New York Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s Degree from Hunter College, Caitlin holds additional certification in Play Therapy and Grief Counseling from Brooklyn College and has been a member of the adjunct faculty in Brooklyn College’s psychology department and in Hunter College’s educational foundations department. Caitlin also holds a primary certificate in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute.
