Kathryn Ort, MS, LMHC is employed as a mental health counselors at Live Well Practice, Mental Health Counseling, PLLC. Kathryn graduated with honors obtaining her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She has over ten years experience providing individual, couples, group, and crisis counseling and has worked in private practice, community clinic and higher education settings.

Kathryn believes that that key to effective therapy begins with the quality of the client/counselor relationship as well as client motivation for change in their lives. It is her goal to promote a safe and supportive counseling experience for her clients. Kathryn takes a collaborative approach with her clients who she believes posses their own innate wisdom that when accessed facilitates the possibility of long term healing. Her desire is to help her clients to make sense of their lives and meet them where ever they are at in their individual experiences. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couples, change of life decisions, adjustment, and self-worth issues.

Kathryn seeks to first connect with her clients and understand their world and experiences. Then she explores with her clients their goals for therapy. She generally uses Motivational interviewing, CBT, Narrative therapy, Solution-focused therapy and Family Systems Therapy depending on clients presenting issues and goals in therapy. She may also incorporates spirituality depending on her clients belief system.

Kathryn’s style is collaborative, authentic, friendly and interactive. Her practice provides for adults and adolescents 17 and up. She meets with individuals and couples.
