Emotional Support Animal Letter
An emotional support animal (ESA) is an animal that provides relief to individuals with “psychiatric disability through companionship.” Emotional support animals may be any type of pet, and are not recognized as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Under federal law, the only way to have an ESA is to obtain a recommendation letter (known as an ESA letter) from a licensed health care professional. With an ESA letter, your animal companion can officially qualify as an ESA. ESA owners have special rights when it comes to housing and on certain airlines.
Our counselors are qualified to provide ESA letters for eligible patients and their pets. To learn more about ESA letters, reach out now.
