Mikayla Singleton, MHC-LP

Mikayla is a counselor at Live Well Practice. When working with clients, Mikayla utilizes a strength-based approach to connect and help them overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, work-related stressors, relationships, cultural-related stressors, and trauma. In sessions, her priority is to adhere to the client’s needs as well as develop a therapeutic alliance to collaborate and encourage growth to create positive change. For the past five years, she has worked with justice-involved individuals as an advocate addressing many unethical carceral experiences and the importance of growth through restorative justice. She has also worked with adolescents navigating educational and career transitions.

For her clients, she is focused on meeting them where they are in life. She is interested in her client as an individual outside of the challenges they face. Empathetic responding and active listening skills are tools utilized both inside and outside of sessions. Her style is warm, collaborative, and humanistic. In sessions, she also uses an integrated dynamic approach to therapy informed by mindfulness, relaxation techniques, psychodynamics, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapies. She is willing to collectively build a session developed for you to encourage improving her client’s overall wellness and wellbeing.
